The strategy will be built on a deep understanding of both current realities and future aspirations. It will consider:
• The condition and capacity of our existing facilities
• Identify emerging community needs.
• Explore exciting opportunities for redevelopment and innovation.
• A peer review of the 2015 strategy to ensure ongoing relevance and effectiveness.
Community involvement and consultation
The development of the new strategy will include extensive community engagement, including a project reference group.
This approach ensures that decisions are informed by community and stakeholder input, while also considering the demand for, and the cost and feasibility of, additional aquatic facilities in our shire.
When the strategy is complete, we’ll let you know you how community input made a difference.
Project Reference Group
A Project Reference Group of community members, stakeholders, and user groups will provide diverse input and guide the development of the East Gippsland Aquatic Strategy.
We’re seeking expressions of interest from people who can offer community and user group perspectives, including:
• Broad community representation, from different places, cultural backgrounds and varied interests in aquatic and sporting facilities across the shire.
• Current user group and key stakeholder representation, including industry bodies.
